FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I take a Screenshot of my iPod Touch or iPad?
Yes, this can be a useful function.  You might want students to save a screenshot of their work or use a screen snapshot to share what you have been doing with your mobile devices.  Some apps allow you to save what you produce on the "Camera Roll" but many do not.  You may also want to save a "work in progress" or use a screen shot in a "How to" series of steps.
Click the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button simultaneously.  The screen will flash and you'll hear a camera shutter sound (if your volume is sufficiently  high).  A screenshot image will be saved to the Camera Roll and available to use in other apps.

What are my rights and responsibilities when syncing my purchased apps to more than one device?
This is a very hazy area.  The apps that you purchase or download are not owned by Apple and each app may be created by a different person or company.  You will need to read the Terms and Conditions that apply to each app.  Apple staff in Queensland have told Brisbane Catholic Education personnel that users may sync a purchased app from one iTunes account to five devices and you may be breaching License Agreements if you exceed this stipulation.  There have been recent changes to iTunes Terms and Conditions in the US which allows schools to apply for "education" accounts to purchase apps, allowing syncing to many more devices, but this requires forms to be completed and submitted, making the process very long-winded and complicated.  This is not yet applicable outside the USA.
